CCC’s First Summer Project

Campus Crusade for Christ’s very first summer project was in Ocean City,NJ.  The project was started when the pastor of Ocean City Baptist Church asked Bill Bright for help in reaching out with the message of Christ to all the young people who visited the beach in the summer. Bill agreed to do a pilot program.

You can watch some of the original video footage which was produced by Ocean City Baptist Church.

Online Churches

Have you ever attended an online church? McLean Bible Church is a good church in Northern Virginia near D.C. and they have many online service times.  I like the sermons. They refer to this as their internet campus which can be found at http://www.mcleanbibleinternet.org/

Here’s the current schedule of live events.

1000 Paper Cranes

We are doing well and look forward to returning home in the next few weeks (April 19). We are so thankful for how the Lord has blessed our time here.

We hope that you have a few minutes to read our newsletter about a creative outreach that one university is doing to reach out to the Japanese people.

Please let us know how we can be praying for you.

Blessings to you,
Scott,Andi,Macey and Eden

Adam at Big Break

Hello from Virginia! We hope that you are well.

We continue to dedicate our effort full-time to raising up the additional funds that we need. The Lord has been so faithful as we have seen nearly half of those additional funds committed. It has been a humbling experience to be in a place of needing to entrust this to Lord and to see Him faithfully call others to partner with us. We are grateful for the Lord’s calling in our lives and that He truly is Jehovah Jireh! (The Lord Will Provide!)

It has been a treat to have extended time with family. Macey cannot get enough time with Grammi and Grampi. We might be in for a difficult time when it’s time for us to head home. Eden is cuter than ever and is about the eclipse the 6 month milestone.

Thanks again for your prayers, love, and partnership. Please let us know how we can be praying for you.

Blessings to you,
Scott,Andi,Macey and Eden

MitchellMail – Happy New Year

We hope that you had an enjoyable Christmas and start to the New Year. We were blessed to spend much time with family and are off and running.

We are now working fulltime on expanding our team of ministry partners in Virginia. We are not sure how long we will be here, but hope to return to Orlando as soon as we can. Andi’s sister and brother-in-law are living with us temporarily as they have been in the midst of job changes. It’s been quite a party, but we have been enjoying this time together. Macey and Eden are enjoying their expanded staff :-)   We just had a big snow storm.  Macey helped build a snowman and we have no TV,internet, phone and very poor cell coverage. We are thankful that we still have electricity and the roads are clear.

We appreciate your prayers. Please let us know how we can pray for you.

MitchellMail –Up From The Depths

Dear Friends and Family,

Happy Fall. We are enjoying some cooler temperatures here in Orlando.

Things are going very well as we continue to adjust to being a family of four. We are enjoying Eden and can’t believe that she’s 9 weeks old already! We are thankful that she has been a fairly ‘easy’ baby. We are still, though, looking forward to a full night’s sleep;-).

Andi has been doing well and for this we are thankful. She continues to be tested for the irregularity in her clotting factor. We are thankful that this has not caused a problem in her healing from the birth. The first couple months after Macey’s birth were very difficult, but these last several weeks have really been a joy!

Also,a few months ago we wrote about other health issues that Andi was experiencing, including some large, unsightly warts on 6 of her fingers. Four painful treatments did not take them away and Andi was beginning to wonder if surgery was the only option. Well, just a couple of weeks ago,all of the warts just disappeared!! It is simply amazing to see the transformation of her fingers.

Macey has been doing wonderfully with potty training! We really thank her Mammaw Ni,who has been here visiting, for her help and encouragement.

We so appreciate your prayers. Please let us know how we can pray for you. We hope that you can read our attached prayer letter for more prayer requests.

Google Apps

The Global Technology Office is currently working with a Google Sales Rep to learn more about Google Enterprise Solutions and its current (ever improving) features.  We have been using the Google Search Appliance for several years as well as Gmail for Business.  The U.S. Campus Ministry has also done some research in this area and has documented their findings.

Google Apps include tools such as Gmail,Docs,Calendar,Contacts.  For a business you can use your own domain name rather than gmail.com.

MitchellMail –Pray for Eden’s Birth

It’s almost September and that means that Eden’s birth is right around the corner! Andi has been quite uncomfortable and tired and can’t wait to meet Eden. We are thankful that Eden continues to progress normally.

There has been, however,a question about Andi’s blood clotting correctly. Her last blood test showed a normal level and for that we are thankful. She will have at least one more blood test to monitor her clotting factor. Her hematologist is concerned that her clotting level could drop after giving birth, increasing her chances of increased bleeding. Also a result of these concerns is the possibility of not being able to have an epidural. We are hopeful that Andi will be able to have one since her last blood test came back normal. (The hematologist explained that some anesthesiologists might not feel safe giving her an epidural given that her clotting number has been lower in the past.) Andi and her mother will have a consultation with an anesthesiologist on Tuesday.

Please pray that that meeting will ease Andi’s fear. Also, please pray that the anesthesiologist on-duty at the hospital when she goes into labor will be someone who will allow Andi to have an epidural.

Also, please pray that Andi will trust the Lord as labor and delivery draw near. She has been extra nervous this time around. This is mostly because of the question about the epidural, but also b/c she is more knowledgeable about this less-than-pleasurable experience.

We appreciate your prayers and will keep you updated as Andi goes into labor (pray that her water breaks at home (or Wal-Mart or wherever— it’s a quick ticket into the hospital!!) and progresses through labor and delivery (and meets Eden!!)

We hope that you can read our attached prayer letter for more prayer requests.

MitchellMail –Soccer World Cup

Hello from hot Florida! We are staying cool by staying indoors. The last couple of months have been a challenge as we have navigated through some health issues, but are thankful that the past couple weeks have been better. Life is just so much better when we’re feeling well!

Macey and Andi each celebrated birthdays this month. Macey turned 3 on the 14th and Andi turned 30 on the 12th. It has been fun to celebrate with family and friends.

Fortunately and thankfully,Andi’s pregnancy continues to progress normally. It’s hard to believe that we will meet our newest addition in less than 2 months!! The baby’s room is in progress with the walls painted and the crib set up. We have high hopes that Macey will make a great big sister. She is understanding as much or more than we expected, but we don’t think that she truly understands how much her world will soon change.

We appreciate you! Please let us know how we can pray for you.
